One word.. connection


Okay many words, connection, cowboy hats, boots, love, light, ooofff, yeehaw...


A connection that can be felt through every single image. A love that should be held onto at every turn or obstacle life throws, one that I can't seem to shake or remove from the tiny parts of my brain. It will live there, rent free, forever.


I knew from the moment I read the detail in Grace & Brock's questionnaire that this session would be one to remember and I felt an instant ease walking out the door to go to this session, something that doesn't always come naturally to someone who puts a lot of pressure on themselves, but I just knew, this was the type of shoot that makes me who I am as a photographer, and my goodness I was not wrong. As I arrived to my favourite location in the South Burnett, I was greeted by two of the most calming and warm humans who radiated so much connection, love and energy. They had country song written all over them and every single time I look at the images in the lights I think of the song "I wish you would" by Mackenzie Carpenter & Midland. I spent the entire session meltingggg, almost in tears and a lot of the time after giving a prompt, absolutely silent which I think made Grace & Brock think I was insane at points. But, my reminder to them was "Just keep doing what you're doing", with theeee biggest smile on my face. As for connection, I will find it and I will notice it. I pride myself so much on noticing, noticing what light does to everything, noticing love, noticing connection, noticing j0y, just always NOTICING. I can see from a mile away just how much you love your partner and I'm just a bystander who gets to capture it. Let it flow, it's so absolutely worth it.


This session is a representation that the magic is in you, the way you light up around the people you love and the way you choose for your session to go is so important. Make it about you, them, just being together. Grace & Brock had a certain vibe they were chasing and honestly the hats, the car and cowboy boots just added to the magic that was already within them.
